Reasons for Skin Tags
Skin tags are benign, non-cancerous, flesh-colored or brown skin growths that develop into little tubular or nubby shapes on the skin’s surface. These non-cancerous little specs of annoyance are basically considered more of a cosmetic dilemma than a medical threat. Or, so at least we thought until recently, according to medical research.
Interestingly, Spanish researchers recently discovered that skin tags and insulin levels may be speaking the language of diabetes. A Brazilian study also found insulin resistance and skin tags to be connected. When blood sugar levels are not properly regulated and inflammation ensues, the skin’s normal cell turnover is compromised leaving skin vulnerable to producing excess abnormal cells where skin tags can develop.
Skin tag removal isn’t difficult. Check with your doctor for safe skin tag removal treatments.
