Going Gray before Age 40
If aging gracefully wasn’t interesting enough, your hair follicles now want a piece of the action. Going gray isn’t a bad thing aesthetically. Some folks prefer hair to turn gray as they age as a symbol of refinement and wisdom. Whether you like it or you don’t, your hair follicles are telling you that they are shutting down the pigment-producing color process.
Don’t be alarmed. This rarely means anything of a serious nature. Genetic factors play a role, too. But, when in doubt, don’t hesitate to get those hormones checked. Check pituitary and thyroid relationships. Premature graying and a vitamin B-12 deficit aren’t an unusual team to explore, either.
