The Shape of Your Head May Matter
If your head is more round, a little wider and a little shorter, sleep apnea could pose a problem for you. This is due to shorter airways becoming obstructed easier than those with larger-type heads. Obstructions lead to more pauses in nighttime breathing and restricts air flow. This restriction can affect lungs and brain function. It also means a compromised sleep cycle, leaving you with morning fogginess, forgetfulness and fatigue.
Sleep apnea is becoming more prevalent in today’s society with obesity on the rise. A healthy weight for your size and sex will help remedy sleep apnea and other health-related issues.
