Kidney problems
Third on our list is kidney problems. You might be surprised to learn that diabetes is actually the leading cause of kidney failure in the U.S. One problem is that kidney issues are usually asymptomatic and hard to diagnosis. Therefore, diabetes related kidney issues are often left undiagnosed.
The chances of experiencing kidney problem associated with diabetes are lowered when blood pressure is managed with medication. However, since these issues are so hard to diagnose and are usually not associated with obvious symptoms, it is important to talk to your doctor so that they are able to monitor possible kidney problems.
