Slow-Healing Wounds
If you happen to notice that a recent scrape, cut, or bruise is taking an usually long time to heal, it is possible that the culprit is slow moving blood high in glucose. The result is a lower capability to heal these wounds due to white cells. Moreover, the bacteria that cause infection get energy from sugar.
If you happen to have a higher than normal blood glucose levels, it means that these bacteria have more to feed off of.
